Responsibilities
  • Achieve or exceed budgeted sales goal monthly/annually
  • Achieve or exceed production goals monthly/annually including processing donations within 24 hours of receipt
  • Creates timely store sales events to achieve additional revenue
  • Maintains and controls expense to revenue monthly/annually
  • Plans weekly/monthly scheduling of store and ADC personnel to maximize operations efficiency
  • Ensures customers are treated in a fair, courteous and efficient manner.
  • Responsible for controlling company assets and funds; balancing cash drawers, change fund, bank deposits, etc.
  • Creates a positive public image of Goodwill through a clean store environment, attractive displays, and presentable and personable sales and management staff.
  • Maintains merchandising guidelines through colorization and classification of store inventory based on the MDS system.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance of all store salvaging
  • Attends required meetings
  • Maintains a safe working/shopping environment by following organization standards and legal regulations.  Investigates all accidents/injuries and documents according to established policy.  Responsible for compliance to the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Knowledgeable of Human Resources policies & procedures as well as Health and Safety Policies and ensures compliance from all store staff
  • Presents store policies and procedures to store staff effectively and positively
  • Conducts site visits to ensure that all policies, procedures and standards are being maintained within Goodwill Industries EKL and MDS Guidelines.
  • Completes required paperwork accurately, neatly and submits within established timeframe (Performance Reviews, Time Sheets, WESA, etc.)
  • Reports known or suspected security and/or theft problems (internal and external)

Works with Team Leader in a training capacity

Qualifications
  • High-school (Grade 12) diploma or equivalent
  • High School Diploma required 
  • College Degree in Marketing, Retailing or related field preferred
  • Previous experience in donated goods is valuable
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office package including Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
  • Two (2) or more years retail management experience is required
  • Previous experience in a unionized environment is an asset
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle are required
  • Must be able to work days/evenings/weekends
  • Incumbent must provide a clear vulnerable sector police check
