Access to Employment Ontario Programs: Ask us about government funding availability Access to Second Career program to provide laid-off workers with skills training for high-demand occupations. Your Employment Consultant can help you assess your eligibility, suitability and financial needs to apply to this program. The Ontario Self-Employment Benefit provides unemployed people who are or have recently been eligible for Employment Insurance with income and entrepreneurial support while they develop and start their business. Access to Ontario Job Creation Program that provides work experience to unemployed job seekers within projects that benefit the community or local economy. At the end of their participation, participants in the program will have recent work experience and additional skills to add to their résumés, increasing their chances of successfully finding long-term employment.

The Targeted Initiative for Older Workers
The Targeted Initiative for Older Workers (TIOW) helps laid-off workers with a broad range of training to help them find new jobs and match their skills and experience with the needs of employers wanting to hire. If you reside in Chatham-Kent and are aged 50-64, come to the Goodwill Career Centre, Chatham and develop a plan that meets your needs.

Future Focus Program
The Goodwill’s Future Focus is a Skills Link program that helps youth facing barriers to employment to learn and develop the broad range of skills and work experience they need to participate in the job market or to return to school. If you are age 15-30 and seeking work, find out how this program can help.

ODSP Employment Supports
We know many people with disabilities can work and want to work. Goodwill’s Employment & Training Services can help through referrals from Ontario Disability Support Program Employment Supports. Support services can help you: prepare for work and find a job; and/or start up your own business. We can help even if you have never worked before, have been out of work for some time, or are in school. Once you start working, you can also get assistance to keep your job or to advance your career.

Developmental Services
Goodwill provides individually designed worksite-based training for individuals with cognitive disabilities and/or mental health issues to teach work skills and behaviours as preparation for competitive employment. Employment can be full or part-time, and provides meaningful, paid work for individuals who cannot presently handle competitive employment. Participants benefit from obtaining job security, opportunity to earn income, expanded social opportunities, supportive vocational rehabilitation counselling, opportunity to develop skills in a caring, accepting environment, referral to a job placement agency when ready for competitive work.
